NYC’S RECOVERY WILL
START IN QUEENS
Queens deserves a District Attorney who makes it clear that their primary obligation is to protect public safety.
Judge Grasso will be that District Attorney.
Throughout his over 40 year career in the criminal justice system, Judge Grasso has served the people of New York City with courage, empathy, and a focus on accountability. Judge Grasso’s decades of experience in the NYPD and the Court System makes him uniquely qualified to have the honor of serving as Queens District Attorney. Focusing on quality of life enforcement, District Attorney engagement, and reforming the “reform,” Judge Grasso will be the District Attorney that Queens needs.
Quality of Life Enforcement
Judge Grasso will not exclude any criminal offenses from being subject to prosecution. Based on his extensive experience in the NYPD and on the bench, he is fully aware of the importance of ensuring that communities experience quality of life and that law abiding citizens are not forced to live in fear.
He will bring sanity to our criminal justice system by prioritizing the prosecution of repeat offenders who wreak havoc on Queens neighborhoods.
District Attorney Engagement
Judge Grasso understands that a District Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer of the county they are elected to serve. He has the courage to fight the political winds and stand up for what he believes to be fair and just, ensuring that public safety and victims’ rights are highly prioritized. Judge Grasso will tirelessly work to end the politically-driven crime wave.
Judge Grasso also knows from experience that fighting for public safety is not mutually exclusive with ensuring that those accused of criminal activity are treated with fairness and respect.
Reforming the “Reform”
Judge Grasso will fight to amend the disastrous 2019 criminal justice reform package, including ill-conceived bail and discovery laws. When elected, he will bring together central criminal justice system stakeholders to determine the most fair and efficient discovery sharing practices.
Judge Grasso will also fight for a dangerousness standard, giving greater judicial authority to set bail on repeat offenders, those who fail to come to court, and those who pose a risk to the community. From his experience creating and implementing restorative justice programs as a judge, he knows that the leverage of judges and courts is imperative in ensuring a fair and just criminal justice system.
