press release: Crime Victim Advocates Madeline Brame and Jennifer Harrison Endorse Judge Grasso
Judge George Grasso stood in City Hall Park today to stand up for crime victims in Queens and across New York City. Judge Grasso accepted the endorsements of Madeline Brame and Jennifer Harrison, who put their support behind Judge Grasso to ensure true public safety by electing a District Attorney in Queens County who will deliver justice for every victim.
“I am grateful for the support of crime victim advocates Madeline Brame and Jennifer Harrison,” said Judge George Grasso. “My platform from day one has put victims first - unlike my incumbent opponent. The Queens crime crisis has been created by politics, and residents need a District Attorney who will speak the truth and stand up for justice. The people of Queens deserve nothing less.”
“Until the current policies are rolled back in their entirety and we start over from scratch, nothing will change,” said Madeline Brame, a victim advocate. “We don’t need tweaking. We need repeal of these disastrous Bail Reform policies. We need a District Attorney in Queens who is going to honor their oath of office and prosecute criminals and put public safety first. That District Attorney will be Judge George Grasso.”
“Melinda Katz seems to be confused,” said Jennifer Harrison, a victim advocate. “The District Attorney’s Office is that of a prosecutor, meant to prosecute crimes for the state on behalf of the victim. The District Attorney’s Office is not that of a public defender, meant to work on behalf of criminals. The District Attorney’s job is to enforce the law and protect the hard working, law-abiding good people of Queens. Her confusion has compounded the trauma and grief endured by the victims she swore an oath to protect. It is time to return the Queens County District Attorney’s office rightfully to the victims it is supposed to fight for by electing Judge Grasso.”
Judge Grasso was most recently the Administrative Judge of Queens Supreme Court, Criminal Term. He stepped down from the bench on August 31, 2022, with over two years remaining on his term, to run for Queens District Attorney.
